There have been fraudulent cases reported in which electricity users were taken money wrongfully by imposters pretending to be an investigator from an Electrical Safety Inspection Association. Please beware not to become a victim. Imposters may say:
Example ①
The contractual clause for powered equipment will be revised soon.
Before that, your distribution switchboard needs inspection and verification.
Example ②
Due to the recent amendment of the Electricity Business Act, we need to inspect your distribution switchboard. Please be prepared to show meter-reading slips received from your electric power company.
As a general rule at least once per four years, we visit each electricity user (residence, shop, etc.) and inspect the user's electric facilities to verify that they conform to the applicable statutory technical standards and other safety standards, and report the inspection results to each user. During the visits, we also provide additional advice by answering to users' questions about any worries or troubles in using electricity, or about relevant topics such as safe use of electricity, energy-saving and so on.
When a user installs new electric facilities or makes change to their existing electric facilities, we inspect the facilities upon completion of such installation or change to verify that they conform to the applicable statutory technical standards and other safety standards and that they fit for safe use of electricity, and then report the inspection results to the user.
